Lilium
Lilum engineers all-electric vertical take-off and landing jets, offering leading capacity, low noise and high performance with zero operating emissions
Founded in 2015, Lilium engineers sustainable, accessible, high-speed, aerial regional transportation for people and goods. Using the Lilium Jet, an all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet, Lilium provides low-noise, high-performance vehicles with leading capacity and zero operating emissions. Unlike traditional jets, Lilium aircraft also do not require large-scale ground infrastructure.
Backed by experts in aerospace, technology and infrastructure, Lilium has planned launch networks announced in Germany, the United States and Brazil. The Lilium Jet is slated to form part of an electric mobility service, connecting urban and rural spaces across regions in new ways.
The proprietary technology at the core of the Lilium Jet is Ducted Electric Vectored Thrust (DEVT). Electric jet engines integrated into the vehicles' wing flaps provide advantages in payload, aerodynamic efficiency and a lower noise profile, whilst also providing thrust vector control to manoeuvre the Lilium Jet through every phase of flight. Lilum's electric jet engines rely on just a single "stage" rotor/stator system driven by an electric motor with zero emissions.
